University of Maryland Capitol Region Medical Center is a brand new full service hospital that opened in July of 2021. In addition to offering the surrounding community comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical services, this facility is also a Level II Trauma Center and is the second busiest trauma center in the state of Maryland. Patients seeking care can be treated for a wide variety of medical needs including: emergency care, critical care, diabetes care, medical imaging, physical rehabilitation, maternal and child health, and a variety of surgical services. The emergency department is staffed by board prepared/board certified physicians as well as experienced Advanced Practice Providers and a seasoned emergency nursing team.
